Luigi Troiani

In 1913 Luigi Dominica Troiani immigrated to Pittsburgh, PA, USA from Navelli, Abruzzo, Italy to create a better life for his family in America.

Concetta and Luigi Troiani Wedding

At age 26 Luigi married Concetta Bosco age 16, who was born in Pittsburgh, and whose family was an established in the Chicken business in the Hill District. Together Luigi and Concetta had 12 children beginning their family in a 3 bedroom home in Pittsburgh’s Hill District on Crawford Street. Luigi Domenica Troiani was a huckster. Daily he would fill a truck with wholesale produce in the Strip District at the Fruit Auction Building, the Twin Plaza buildings and others and call out the daily features and distribute the best of each season among the streets of McKees Rocks and Coraopolis and make deals to provide for his family.

Julius Troiani was the youngest boy of the family. Born living on a small city lot without a blade of grass, the boys were fortunate that their mother had encouraged the boys to construction and the boys built a 2 story tree house in the back yard. As a teenager Jul Troiani bought a home in Beechview together with his brothers and developed it into a multi-unit rental property. He went on to buy additional homes with his brothers, improve them and began operating a construction company and property management company.

Better Neighborhoods Built on Family Values

We are place-makers, we are not merchant developers. We are a family vested in and around the City of Pittsburgh and make generational commitments to assemble land, earn land use understanding and to operate uses to activate our spaces to add value and improve quality of life in the communities which together make Pittsburgh. We are more than just bricks and mortar construction. We’re about making spaces better, together. Activating, integrating, and creating city spaces that improve life within our communities is our priority. Our properties are anchored in over a century of responsible, caring, community-centered stewardship that started with a Troiani family vision that began in 1913. Over the years, we work with our neighbors, our partners, and our city, always considering Pittsburgh’s diverse mix of communities in shaping, transforming, and reimagining not only how spaces look, but how people are able to come together in the spaces we’re coordinating activation. Whether you’re having pancakes at Pamela’s in the Strip District, parking your car to go ice skating at PPG Place downtown or enjoying funnel cake from a sidewalk vender our properties are part of the grit, character and history of Pittsburgh, family and community traditions and part of our shared future.
